Frequently Asked Questions

We are all a little bit confused, wouldn't you say?

Drone Services

Using Tiny AV for Drone Services.

We offer visual drone services (i.e., aerial photography and videography.) We do not provide specialty imaging (e.g., thermal, LIDAR) or other services. Tiny AV is strictly for visual photo and video capture.

Yes. Our drone operators are 107 certified by the FAA.

We cannot provide blanket statements about flying — as regulations are complex and changing. However, we can submit requests to fly. Certain authorizations may be obtained quickly, while others may take several weeks or months to receive approval. This is project specific.

Generally, we can fly in winds up to 20 mph. However, we cannot fly in rain or snow. We can fly in temperatures as low as 20°F and as high as 100°F. It is important to note that weather conditions may impact our operations.

Yes, we can capture both photos and videos with our drones.

We have several drones, with typical flight time ranges from 20 to 45 minutes. Flight time is dependent on the drone, payload, and weather conditions. We are able to swap out batteries and continue flying.

Yes, you can make specific requests for your photo and video needs. We will do our best to accommodate; however, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to capture the requested shots or angles.

We have a pre-flight checklist to ensure we are flying safely. Generally, we do not fly over people or moving vehicles. We also do not fly under certain weather conditions, at the pilot's discretion. For indoor flights we typically use propeller guards, and we generally walk the area to be flown to ensure there are no hazards.

Getting Started

Know the basics of ordering our services.

We cover a wide range of events and projects — from weddings, corporate events, documentaries, promotional, and more. Contact us to discuss your specific needs. Or just trust our 5,000+ projects of experience.

We recommend booking as early as possible to ensure availability. Last minute requests create unhappy employees and cause us some stress.

Usually within 14 days, sometimes next day, but never too, too long. It really depends on your project, and how involved the post-production is.

No, our pricing is designed for online ordering. We generally encourage "self checkout" but can be made available if you need assistance.

Payment

Billing, payments and money stuff.

We process payments through Stripe and accept major credit cards like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

At this time, everything we do is fully paid upfront at booking. If you have a large project, please contact Vanilla Video or our customer support team.

Only if the project scope changes. We try to be generous and relaxed about staying longer as needed, but don't try to abuse it. We may need to leave for another order, or for various reasons (our time is not free.)

All orders are immediately 50% non-refundable (reserving our availability) since we limit other orders to avoid over-booking. The remainder may be refunded if cancelled in advance by at least 14 days.

Nope. In fact, sometimes larger projects can actually be more logistically intensive and require additional project management fees.

Photography

Using Tiny AV for Photography.

We offer a dynamic range of photography services including: event photography, corporate photography, wedding photography, portrait photography, commercial photography, real estate photography, aerial photography, and more. If you can schedule it, we can shoot it.

Yes, in fact you need to choose the location for the photo shoot. We can shoot on-location at your home, office, or other venue. We can also shoot events or other locations as needed. If you need location assistance, please contact our other brand: Vanilla Video for more information.

You should bring your own props as needed, and do your own pre-planning, as we do not provide props for the photo shoot (nor any other prep.)

We only offer digital versions of the photos. However, you can order prints or albums using the digital versions of the photos without restriction.

Not through Tiny AV directly. We only offer "Basic Cleanup Editing". However, you can request edits or retouching through our other brand: Vanilla Video as needed. They can provide additional or advanced editing services.

We have 5,000+ projects secured in our cloud storage system from over 10 years ago. This is a secure and professionally managed system that we use to store all of our projects. As part of our protocols, we store offline copies of projects, eventually updating our remotely off-site storage as well.

You can, but we do not offer printing services directly. You will need to order prints and albums using the digital photos through another vendor.

The photos are yours to use as you see fit. You can use them for personal or commercial purposes without restriction. However, we do retain the right to use photos for our own marketing purposes. And, note, we do not guarantee that the photos are free of any third-party rights (e.g., logos or trademarks which may have been incidentally captured in the photographs.) As far as the photos themselves are concerned, you own them.

We do not place any restrictions on the photos for commercial purposes. However, we do not guarantee that the photos are free of any third-party rights (e.g., logos or trademarks.) You own the photos we capture on your behalf, but you are responsible for their use.
